The rules that apply to entering TMSA

Rules and Requirements

Please go through the rules and requirements of the category you wish to enter before completing the entry process to make sure you meet all requirements.

RULES AND REQUIREMENTS BEFORE ENTERING:

  • Please take note that Top Model South Africa is not a pageant and also not an agency. It is a modelling competition scouting new talent in South Africa.
  • ONLY South African citizens are allowed to enter for Top Model South Africa. Entrants must have a valid passport/SA ID or Birth Certificate.
  • The competition is open to:
Male Contestants: Female Contestants:
Between the ages of 18 – 28 as at 2020. Between the ages of 16 – 24.
With the length of 1.83m and taller. With the length of 1.73m and taller.
Not bigger than a size 32 – 34.
May not be pregnant and have never given birth.
Male and Female contestants may NOT be married, or have been divorced before, and are not allowed to have children.
  • Entry Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
  • Immediate family of the organising committee may not enter this competition.
  • Make sure to inform us if you are currently signed with an agency.

GENERAL RULES AND REQUIREMENTS AS A CONTESTANT FOR TOP MODEL SOUTH AFRICA:

  • You will be disqualified if some of the following rules of Top Model South Africa are broken.
  • You are to advertise Top Model South Africa in a positive manner at all times and you will not be allowed to slander Top Model South Africa’s name, or any member of the Top Model South Africa team.
  • You will receive valuable workshops and training by highly skilled professionals. Some of these workshops or events will be compulsory to attend as a semi-finalist or finalist.
  • You need to act professional at all times.
  • All semi-finalists and finalists will be required to do fundraising and sell tickets for the events such as the semi-finals and Grand Finale. Please note you will not be allowed to compete in Top Model South Africa if you have not sold all your tickets and completed your fund raising unless decided otherwise.
  • Contestants and parents are expected to behave in a sportsmanlike manner and any interference, whatever the nature, shall not be tolerated.
  • Contestants agree that they do not have the right to make any press releases whatsoever, without the consent of the organisers.
  • You will receive a reference letter from Top Model South Africa which you can use when sending your CV to companies for future job applications.
  • Top Model South Africa are not responsible for any injuries or expenses of being a selected contestant for our competition.
  • Prizes received during the contestant’s journey are not refundable for cash.

  • The judge’s decision is also final when also selecting a male and female runner-up model.

  • The competition is open to:

Male/Female Contestants which has:

  1. Community Involvement: It will definitely count in contestant’s favour if they are already involved in uplifting their community, but will be expected of them to come up with great, innovative ideas on how to become more involved in their community.
  2. Extraordinary Achievements: If a contestant already achieved extraordinarily, it will certainly score highly with the judges. They must have the determination and potential, courage and desire to achieve ground-breaking successes.
  3. Inspiration as an icon to the Youth: The male/female winner will become an inspiring icon to the Youth of today and therefor they must possess a strong character, ambition, a passion for human rights and they will be expected to answer a string of questions to test their eloquence and general knowledge.
  4. He/she must be ready to take on South Africa as a public figure, a role model and Ambassador of our diverse country.
  5. We really want to see someone with spirit and drive that will motivate other individuals from different walks of life.

GENERAL RULES AND REQUIREMENTS AS A WINNER/RUNNER-UP FOR TOP MODEL SOUTH AFRIA:

  • The male/female winner will be promoted through Top Model South Africa and will sign a 12-month contract.
  • All official interviews conducted by the female/male winner are mandatory.
  • Top Model South Africa are not responsible for any injuries or expenses of the winner.
  • Top Model South Africa may use images of the male/female winner at all times.
  • If the male/female winner conduct themselves in a manner not befitting the title, they will be disqualified and the runners-up will be selected.
  • If the winner is disqualified or chooses to relinquish the title, all prizes, awards and cash value shall be returned in full to be given to the next choice of the judges.
  • The winner will be available for their sponsors for appearances for free, if decided otherwise.
  • Prizes received as a winner and runner-up are not refundable for cash.

Between the ages of 18 – 40 Between the ages of 16 – 40
People with physical disabilities, for example amputees, paraplegics or any mobility impaired individuals.

Someone who has epilepsy, deaf or is blind is also welcome to enter.

We will be shortlisting 30 male contestants and 30 female contestants from different provinces and thereafter through a process of one-on-one interviews with the panel of recognised and high-profiled judges.

Only 15 male contestant and female contestant will remain after the auditions and they will compete at the live show in 2020 for Top Model South Africa Diversity.

  • Entry Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
  • Immediate family of the organising committee may not enter this competition.

  • If the winner is disqualified or chooses to relinquish the title, all prizes, awards and cash value shall be returned in full to be given to the next choice of the judges.
  • The winner(s) will be available for their sponsors for appearances for free, if decided otherwise.
  • Prizes received as a winner and runner-up are not refundable for cash.
